With sympathies for the folks who tried too late and couldn’t get tickets, the Ceilidh held on November was hugely enjoyed by all. Thanks to the music of Jim Carson’s Band – who very generously gave their services free of charge – the evening, literally, went with a swing. Once supper of fish & chips had been devoured, an entertaining ‘Strictly’ competition was held with the eventual winners John and Hazel Gilmour dancing a truly memorable version of the tango !
Local traders were, once again, generous in donating prizes. This enabled a luxury Christmas Hamper filled with goodies to be sold over the few remaining weeks leading up to Christmas. Congratulations to Eleanor Barr who had the winning ticket.
A net total of £2885 was raised, which will be Gift Aided for Quire Restoration funds.
