Owing to the time pressures of a new job, it was with regret that the Kirk Session received news that Alastair Scott would have to stand down as our church Treasurer. Alastair has filled this position with great diligence over the past eight years and we are most grateful for his work and commitment. We wish him all success in his professional life and are delighted that he wishes to remain a member of our finance group.
Taking over from Alastair, we are fortunate in having Jim Provan as our new Treasurer. Originally from Clydebank, Jim moved from Giffnock to Bothwell in 1990.
He worked as a Commercial Manager in Royal Bank of Scotland, retiring two years ago after forty years service.
Over the years, Jim has worked extensively around Glasgow, Ballantrae, Edinburgh, and 20 years around Lanarkshire before retiring from Paisley.
Jim has been married for 35 years to Janette who is a Church Elder, and they have two grown up daughters; Laura and Gillian.
Jim’s interests include ballroom dancing and gardening, and he has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Hamilton for seventeen years, becoming President at the end of June.
