Lanarkshire Commemoration of ending of World War 1

At the request of the Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Lady Susan Haughey CBE
a special Commemoration be held at Bothwell Parish Church to mark the Ending
of World War One. This event will be the official ceremony for Lanarkshire. and
will be held on

beginning at 5pm.

The Commemoration will be attended by Civic leaders and Councillors from
North and South Lanarkshire, MPs and MSPs, representatives of the Armed Forces,
British Legion (Scotland) and other civil agencies.

The service will be open to the congregation and members of the public.
Throughout the period of warfare, candles have been lit within Bothwell Kirk to
commemorate those who fought and whose lives were sacrificed. Remembrance
has also been made of Bothwell men who were killed in action or severely
wounded. To aid us do so, we acknowledge gratitude to the members of
Bothwell Historical Society for their published research.
